Reciprocal Pronoun

Reciprocal Pronoun: A) Reciprocal pronouns refer to persons or things which are acting on each other. Each other and one another are the only two reciprocal pronouns. These are always used objectively. Both phrases may be used to refer to either persons or things. e.g.

(a) You and I saw each other last week.

(b) The two friends helped each other with their work.

B) If more than two persons are involved (lets say, a large book club), we would say:

(a) The two friends quarralled with each other.

(b) They all gave gifts to one another.
